No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been referred to as the greatest poker contender on the planet by quite a few of the top-ranked pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before reaching the age of 1. His grandpa taught Phil one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was hooked on poker and wished to discover anything he could about the game. He routinely told his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He didn’t let the detrimental feedback from other people kill his ambition of becoming one of the greatest poker players in the world.
Phil began competing intently after acquiring a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He sharpened his skills at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The beginning few years for him were a teaching experience and coming away with a win wasn’t a normal thing at the time. He made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made two final tables and came away with his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the final table he defeated quite a few of the well known pros including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil decided to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Las Vegas. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his success to dedication and an immeasurable love for the game of poker. Phil says that he is picking up skills every day and is incredibly humble about his achievements. Phil admits to making mistakes in each game of poker and constantly aspires to get better.
Despite the fact that Ivey has won some big tournaments, he prefers destroying cash games on a regular basis.
