Limit Texas Holdem Poker is the most popular style of holdem poker, drawing many novice poker enthusiasts. The reason for it being so popular is due to the fact that the betting is not too cutthroat. The stakes are not big and because the betting is confined, you can easily compete with little or no money.

If you are playing at a 50c/$1 Limit hold’em Poker table, the wagering will be confined to values of 50 cents for the pre-flop and flop, and $1 on the Turn and River rounds.

In Limit poker rooms the strongest poker hand most often wins, due to the fact that players are more likely to stay in the game and force a showdown. If you were betting in a No Limit Poker Room bettors are more likely to fold before the turn or river, than chance losing a huge part of their stack.

Tricking in Limit games is not very typical, because it is not very expensive for your competitor to call if he/she suspects that you might be trying to bluff him.

If you are playing at a low-limit game and you are handed a strong hand you will need to try to keep as many players in the hand as you can. Trying checking if you’re one of the initial to place a bet, this should fool most bettors into thinking your cards are poor.

The key is to attract as many wagers out of your competitors without revealing that you are in a strong spot.

In low-limit poker games you should keep a lookout for pre-flop hands that are no fewer than nines or higher pair, or two big rank unpaired cards.
