The value of Poker Position
Holdem is all about gamblers and seating. All experienced Holdem enthusiasts agree that seating in no cap Texas Holdem is fundamentally essential. Showing your hole cards in late spot will be much more profitable than in starting poker position. This is because a whole lot more info is gathered prior to acting.
e.g., I played in a $1-$2 no limit cash match at a local spot. I limped in holding 2, 9 unsuited on the dealer marker, just to partake in a bit of action. Flop came down A-A-4. An individual in starting spot placed a $15 wager. Two entrants fold and it was now my turn to act. I really should have dropped out, but something seemed a tiny bit odd. I ID’d this contender as a weak-tight guy, and typically if he had the strongest hand he would only check, so I called.
The turn showed with a 7, making it A-A-4-7. My challenger placed another wager of $20. I hesitated a tiny bit, but decided to re-raise another $30thirty dollars on top of his twenty dollars. He dropped out and I take the money.
Sitting at last position gives you an idea where you stand by studying how other enthusiasts react and wager. On the flip side, people at early position may use their poker spot to check-raise the last positioned aggressors and corner them later at the end. In Holdem, both ends, late and early must be wagered carefully.
