Showing your hole cards in late spot will be much more beneficial than in starting poker spot. The reason seeing that much more information is assembled prior to acting.
e.g., I was playing a $1-$2 no limit money game at a local casino. I came in with 2, 9 unsuited on the croupier marker, just to partake in a little fun. Flop came down A-A-4. A person in starting spot made a $15 wager. Two entrants drop out and it was now my turn. I should have folded, but something seemed a bit odd. I ID’d this contender as a weak-tight bettor, and normally if he had the strongest hand he would simply check, so I called.
The turn showed with a 7, meaning it was a A-A-4-7. My opposer made a further bet of $20. I hesitated a little bit, but decided to re-raise an additional $30thirty dollars over and above his twenty dollars. He folds and I won the chips.
Sitting at last spot provides you an insight into where you are positioned by observing how other gamblers carry oneself and wager. On the flip side, players at early spot can use their poker position to check-raise the last seated competitors and trap them afterwords at the end. In Texas Hold’em, both spots, last and early must be bet carefully.
