No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been branded as the number one poker player on the globe by quite a few of the top-ranked pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before his first birthday. His grandfather taught him penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was addicted to poker and wanted to pickup every little thing he could about poker. He routinely told his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. He did not permit the adverse feedback from other people kill his ambition of being one of the greatest poker players in the world.
Phil began playing intently after getting a false ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his abilities at the casinos of Atlantic City. The beginning few years for Phil were a learning period and winning wasn’t a common outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made two final tables and won his first WSOP bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the final table he defeated many of the better known professionals including but not limited to "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil decided to take his game to the successive level and moved out west to Vegas. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Ivey credits his achievements to discipline and a continuing love for poker. Phil says that he’s learning every single day and is incredibly humble about his accomplishments. Phil admits to making errors every single game of poker and constantly aspires to get better.
Although Ivey has come first in some big tournaments, he prefers destroying money games on a normal basis.
